Flashbacks are fun...

So this morning my best friend came over to see the Chambers and Hotpoint...when I wsas 14 yrs old, i spent the holidays with her and her family in memphis and her elderly uncle took a liking to me. I remember very clearly...he askedme if i liked steak and invited me to his house for dinner. I remember,in detail, the steak and a certain fascination with that dinner but it wasn't until this morning that it all became clear in detail. When my friend saw the stove, she exclaimed "you have uncle Morris's stove ! That griddle is the broiler, right ?" and there it was, it was the detail to that 40 yr old memory...it was more than the steak dinner, it was the stove. I remember standing in the kitchen and being intrigued by him cooking, surely it was that in a top broiler that got me. Now the mystery is solved, my forst exposure to a Chambers was in 1967...

my nostalgia is kraft french salad dressing (aroma and taste) from my grandma's.

ne'er a chambers in my memory, in fact I am always surprised when a visitor comments that they recognize mine from their kitchens of old.
